Riccardo Trobbiani holds a Bachelor in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Rome ‘La Sapienza’, a Master of Science from the University of Bristol and an Italian Master’s degree in International and Diplomatic Sciences-European Studies from the University of Bologna.
During his period as Project Researcher at UNU-CRIS, he will assess EU Cultural and Science Diplomacy initiatives and strategies in various regions of the world, within the EU-funded project ‘European Leadership in Cultural, Science and Innovation Diplomacy’ (EL-CSID) – for which UNU-CRIS is in charge of Working Package 5. He will also coordinate other researchers and report on the outcomes.
Riccardo Trobbiani was previously Visiting Researcher at UNU-CRIS, where he focused on collecting data and analyzing EU Cultural and Science diplomacy initiatives in the Middle East and North Africa region, as well as cooperating on other ongoing research activities of the Institute.
As Academic Assistant at the College of Europe, Riccardo coordinates and assists Visiting Professors holding top positions in international organizations, academia and the private sector. He teaches tutorials on EU affairs. He acts as an intermediary between professors, students and administration for any academic or organizational need. His tasks include organising events both in content and logistics, as well as producing academic research.
His research interests concern the changing role of the post-Westphalian state in providing security as well as political and social goods to its citizens in an increasingly globalized and regionalized world.
